ALI ALMASRI X MERELY MADE

ALI ALMASRI is a type and graphic designer who holds multiple degrees in graphic and industrial design.

His portfolio is very diverse, across the area of branding, corporate identities and type design. He seeks to explore new visual languages, relating in particular to the Arabic visual culture with a specific focus on the Arabic letter.

For their first collaboration, ALI ALMASRI & Merely Made wanted to create a link between the Arab culture and the Korean one by writing the brand name in arabic, with a beautiful handwriting in a caligraphic style, on a mugunghwa flower.

For centuries, the mugunghwa flower, which is an important symbol of Korean culture, represents deep affection and means “eternal blossom that never fades”.

The beautiful result of this combination spreads a great message hidden in the design.
